Do you have a dog, cat or small animal that cant go with you? Having pets does not mean you have to miss out on going to events or going on holiday. The thought of leaving your pets in someone else's care- especially for the first time is understandably nerve-wrecking. But it doesn't have to be!
To give you peace of mind I am the holder of a clear DBS check, insured with Pet Business Insurance and certified in pet first aid.
Pets benefit from being in their own surroundings when the people they know and trust are away. Having a pet sitter ensures the changes to your pets day to day life are very limited.
Check out the reviews tab to see what previous previous pet sitting customers have to say. I have linked my google business page which means you have access to EVERY review left for Step Pets.
You will receive daily updates, pictures and videos- you can also call any time to check in. You are not expected to respond to updates while you are away- but they are provided so that you can be at ease knowing your pets are happy and well looked after.
Having a pet sitter in your home means your pet has their undivided attention. If your pet has special requirements such as physical health needs you can be sure your instructions will be followed to the letter.
Every potential customer is entitled to a free 1 hour meet and greet service. I also encourage booking 2 visits prior to using the service for overnights to ensure you and your pets are comfortable.
You will also be given a detailed form to fill out about your pets needs and care instructions.
It is a requirement to have a council granted license for someone who's business takes your dog and boards them in their own home. If you are considering sending your dog to someone which is known as "home boarding" rather than using a pet-sitter please ensure they provide you with their license number.
Ideal for short breaks for pets that would benefit from a hands off, in and out approach. All primary needs such as clean environment, fresh water, food and appropriate interaction to check the pets welfare will be met.
Ideal for toilet breaks, enclosure cleans, water changes, feeding times, litter tray cleans etc. Most commonly booked for small animals and cats with an independant personality.
Ideal for the services mentioned above and for animals that would enjoy some time for playtime and cuddles.
Perfect to break up your day out. Handy if your pet has separation anxiety allowing you time for a film or dinner.
Your pet will be allowed to sleep wherever they are accustomed to. If your pet is used to snuggling all night they can, if you have specific requests (e.g. crating) they will be adhered to. Price Includes short night and morning walk (for dogs).

With the detailed information- I am comfortable to look after pets including reptiles (pets at home experience), small animals, cats, dogs and some farm animals.
As much as I would love to be able to provide that level of time to your pets- I have regular walking clients Monday-Friday. For weekends this may be a possibility so please do enquire for availability.
Yes! If your dog enjoys the company of others and is used to enjoying sharing a bed then they are welcome to continue to do so.
Yes! The main benefit of pet-sitting is to disrupt your dogs routine as little as possible. If your dog benefits from sleeping in their safe-space then I will follow your instructions to continue their regular routine.
I recommend having a key ready for your last booked visit before you require the service. I can also drop the key off directly to you or leave it where you request.
If you have a lockbox you can provide the code. If this feels daunting- you can temporarily change your code if you'd like to keep your usual code private.
I am able to support in giving prescribed medication. I have years of experience in administering medication in a professional setting with humans and with animals when working in pets at home and as part of Step Pets care.
Sadly pets can get ill despite humans best efforts to keep them safe and well. You will be receiving daily updates and will be informed if there are any concerns regarding your pets welfare. My forms do include treatment consent and vet information for such circumstances. I am experienced in liaising with health professionals and ensure that any concerns are relayed to you and where necessary your vet. I will support your pet to a vet if it is required. In an emergency if you can not be contacted, the emergency contact info you provide will be called. However, be assured that if nobody can be contacted I will make sure your pet still receives the care and attention they require.
